Why is Canada buying oil from Saudi Arabia ??? $115,000,000,000 on oil imports since 2012
Canada has spent more than $115,000,000,000 on oil imports since 2012 and the special interest groups fighting our pipelines are happy to keep it that way forever.
Kevin Hermer: "A healthy Canadian driven oil industry would benefit ALL Canadians via transfer payments. Yet Eastern Canada chooses to buy Saudi and American oil. Liberals believe that shipping oil by rail is environmentally safer than pipeline. And Trudeau now has Liberals turning on Canadian Small Business owners. I was a teenager when this country was very divided. But Pierre Trudeau took years to create that divide. And I don't think it was as bad as what Trust Fund Trudeau has created in less than two years."
Peter Chalupiak: "If you realize the economic destruction rolled out by the Democrats in the US over the last 30 years you will also realize the same is currently being rolled out here CANADA. If these people are not stopped ASAP then the outcome will be the same. Monetary and Fiscal policy in the US are in shambles. It was suggested in an article I just recently read that the US will have to return to the gold standard to stabilize their debt situation and their dollar. Oil is a big part of the equation in Canada, that's why it's under attack... Western Canada in particular."

Ridiculous regulations and caveats have ruined any chance of new pipelines so while we continue to heat our houses and drive our gas-fired cars we will do it with imported oil. The pipeline and oil companies are rapidly exiting Alberta and Canada. In my opinion, Trudeau's support of Trans Mountain was and is a deception. He has publicly said he supports it while working to make sure it doesn't happen. Where are the cries of "hidden agenda" against him and his government? ..and quit making the sewage comparison, it has been worked to death and is a local problem not an issue that is shattering to the national economy."
Sandy Dennis Whittaker: "I wonder if there is bigger plan . . . . .decimate our oil industry and while it is laying in ashes institute a NATIONAL ENERGY POLICY . . . . PIerre Trudeau tried to do just that in his term, thankfully we had Peter Lougheed who turned off the taps and fought hard for us!"
Bill Broughton: "All we hear from environmentalists is how dirty our oil is so let's sponsor a study into TOTAL GHG's produced by all countries shipping into or past our borders. Most exporters have bad human rights including Saudi Arabia and especially Venezuela, but ignoring this, their oil is still producing GHG's on a par with our oil sands and shipping by ocean tanker, while taboo on the west coast is ok on all other waterways in the world. We don't hear of all the oil spills from world tanker traffic or offshore oil platforms but I'm sure it happens regularly but not reported by the lefty press."
